The lyric writing aspect of MCing and rapping offers a route into literacy for young people who may not engage in literacy as MCing and Hip Hop culture is something they feel ownership of. Lyric and song writing offer opportunities for young people to express themselves on their terms.
Our lyric writing workshops focus on using poetry and song lyrics as a way to creatively explore issues and topics related to the lives of the participants. Baby People’s tutors are experienced song writers, rappers and poets who have performed nationally and released their work to the public for over a decade.
