A creative volunteering programme for young people aged 10-18 years old, living in Newhall and Swadlincote.
Make Volunteering Fun is a year long programme to provide the opportunity for a group of around 20 young people to take part in meaningful, fun, regular volunteering that makes a real difference in their own community and provides skills training for working in the creative industries.
Over a year young people will work alongside professional artists to provide opportunities for other people in the community to take part in creative activities, including a series of events, that the young creatives will produce especially for local older people to take part in.

So far volunteers have planned and ran a community event in Newhall, with Graffiti Drop-in activities, ran a lantern making event at Swadlincote Christmas Light Switch on, have taken part in Dementia Friends training, have supported a dementia friendly event with Djembe Drumming and Willow Weaving.
The groups next event will be this years Festival of Leisure, which takes place over the weekend of the 23rd and 24th June at Maurice Lea Memorial Park, Common Road, Church Gresley, Swadlincote, Derbyshire, DE11 9NW.
