Using land art and a specially commissioned sculpture to create a new landmark symbolic of eternity, unity and reflection.
Hatton Parish has a forwarding thinking, creative and very active Council who have commissioned a timely project to create a Peace Garden within the land they own.
Inspired by the village’s strong sense of community and wish to remember those who have been lost, the garden will potentially reshape the landscape to include a 4 metre high circular stepped amphitheatre, covered in grass and wild meadow flowers, a bespoke circular floor mosaic and a metal sculpture with engravings that can be added to over time. The project will create a ‘reflective and peaceful’ green space in the heart of the village for everyone to enjoy.
People Express have ran several activity days and attended village events to talk to local residents about the project.
Local building contractors and businesses have offered to donate earth and contribute to construction costs. The project is subject to planning permission and funding confirmation.
