Newhall Creative Collective was formed in 2019, after the group came together after taking part in a series of pilot creative workshops arranged by People Express at Chrysanthemum Court, a supported social housing complex in Newhall, South Derbyshire. The group decided they wanted to set up a project of their own to support other residents and local community members to take part in creative activities to fight the stigma they felt existed around where they lived. People Express supported the group to gain a grant from The National Lottery Community Fund and co-designed a year long project that culminated in the publication of a brand new book 'Imagination Runs Wild' and exhibition of work created through the year.

Chrysanthemum Creates is a project run by Newhall Creative Collective, supported by People Express. The project is an opportunity for adults who don't feel very confident taking part in the arts to have a go in a friendly and supportive environment. The group has a mixture of artist-led workshops and self-led workshops where participants are invited to share their skills.
