Derbyshire Makes

There is something for everyone in the new Swadlincote Festival with over 150 makers showcasing their work, 25 free drop-in workshops over the two days and several ‘pop-up’ exhibitions and demos.

The programme has been developed with support from an amazing Steering Group including;
Sharpe’s Museum, Arts Derbyshire, the National Forest, Burton and South Derbyshire College, Swadlincote Library, South Derbyshire District Council, DACE and local Makers Elaine Lim-Newton and Peter Wood.

The festival takes place across the town centre, discover something exciting at Sharpe’s Museum, People Express, The Hub, Swadlincote Library, The Delph, The Town Hall and on The Makory bus and wander down to the Church Street end of the High Street to find the food corner and Street Art Station!

The Swadlincote weekend event is one of the six free festivals across the county in April. The programme also includes county-wide projects like Dare to Dream’, access to local archives and collections onThe Makory’ bus (curated by Derby Museum of Making), workshops and events throughout the year.
